Scrap Paper Scizzors is a scrapbook store located in Georgetown Kentucky run by Melissa Wagner. We offer a fresh approach to scrapbooking from our hip hard-to-find papers and embellishments to our classes for every type of scrapbooker from beginners to advanced.

Summer has Arrived!

And with it has brought the stifling heat and humidity….but don’t let that stifle your creativity! We’ve got plenty of classes and events to keep you and the kids cool and creative all summer long.

NEWS

CHA will soon be upon us and we’re doing our best to prepare for a whirlwind of new products to blow into the store….that means we need to get rid of as much of our current inventory as possible in order to make room for all of the new stuff! So be sure to print out our June Coupon and take advantage of our paper special all month long!

Don’t forget that our next Whatever You Want Wednesday is coming up on June 11, so bring in your Michaels or Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons and take advantage of the great savings!

Also, if you are not currently a Maps-2-Memories discount keytag participant, be sure to check out www.maps2memories.com to see how you can qualify for an SOS or Key 2 Savings discount keytag just by making purchases at your participating local scrapbook stores. As you travel on vacation throughout the summer, this is a perfect site to find local scrapbook stores across the US along your travel route, and if you have your Key 2 Savings discount keytag, you can use it at all of the participating stores you find listed on the site!

Now that the kids are out of school, you’ll most likely be looking to find activities to keep them busy and out of trouble and we have just the thing you’re looking for! We will be holding a Kid’s Craft Camp starting the last week in June and running through the end of July. The Camp will be held every Tuesday for six weeks starting June 24 through July 29 11am-12:30pm. These classes are for anyone 5 years of age and up. Many of our classes will appeal to kids, teens and adults alike. Parents may stay and participate with the kids, or drop them off to take advantage of an hour or so of free time. If summer brings you face to face with an out of control mess of scrapbooking materials and supplies, never fear! Our Summer Consignment Sale is just around the corner, so start boxing up all of those extra supplies and get them priced and ready to sell. Friday Night Crop- join us tonight 6/6 from 5pm-2am for our late night crop.

Basics of Photoshop Elements- we have 2 dates for this class in June due to the overwhelming response for the first date. The first class scheduled for tomorrow Saturday 6/7 11am-2pm has one spot available. The second class scheduled for Saturday 6/14 11am-2pm still has a few spots available. Totally Techniques- Stamping Techniques II- Tuesday 6/17 6-8pm Whether you’ve already taken our Stamping Techniques I class and want to add even more techniques to your reference booklet, or whether you just want to learn some really cool advanced stamping techniques, you won’t want to miss out on this class!

Quick & Simple Scrapbooking- Fresh Picked Flowers- Wednesday 6/18 6-8pm Create a fresh and fun 2-page multiphoto layout sure to inspire you!

Friday Night Crop- 6/20 5pm-2am Join us for another fun-filled late night crop!

Express Yourself Challenge Class- Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue- Monday 6/23 6-8 pm If you missed out on our first Challenge Class last month, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this one! This month we will be challenging you to pull from all of your resources and ours to create a layout inspired by the popular wedding tradition. You must create your layout using something old from your stash of stuff, new from the store, borrowed from your classmates, and a touch of blue! So come in and give yourself a challenge and a fresh approach to scrapbooking!

Kid’s Craft Camp- Triple Canvas Wall Hanging- Tuesday 6/24 11am-12:30pm Bring the kids in to create a super cute wall-hanging created from 3 4×6 canvasses painted and adorned with a selection of die cuts and embellishments and held together with ribbon, and ready to hang on the wall in their room when they are finished.
Scrapbook Inspirations- Orange Creamsicle Laugh- Tuesday 6/24 6-8pm These summer inspired layouts bring to mind the freshness of a deliciously cool creamsicle on a hot summer day, so tickle your scrapbooking appetite with these delightfully designed layouts.

That’s My Baby Club- Vintage Baby Layouts- Thursday 6/26 6-8pm Join in the club or just sign up for a single class and create beautifully embellished vintage baby pages.

Project of the Month- FRIEND Chipboard Word Album- Saturday 6/28 11am-2pm Create this super cute 6 page word album to celebrate all of the special friends in your life!

Artist Trading Card Class and Swap- Monday 6/30 6-8pm Come in and learn all about the art of ATC’s and create themed cards to swap with your classmates. ATC’s are a great way to learn new techniques and styles and to use up your scraps and miscellaneous embellishments. They are great for just collecting, or use them to decorate card fronts or as embellishments or journaling cards on your layouts.

NEWS

It’s that time of year again to celebrate every scrapbooker’s favorite holiday…… NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!!! And as always, we will be celebrating in style! Join us all weekend starting Friday 5/2 through Saturday 5/3 and crop ’til you drop!

We will start off the festivities at our Friday night crop on 5/2 from 5:00 pm- 2:00 am. Then we will continue the festivities on Saturday 5/3 at our all day crop from 10:00 am- 10:00 pm. And if you are planning on cropping both days, you can just leave all of your stuff out on the table when you leave Friday night and just pick up where you left off when you come in Saturday! And even better, by attending both days, you’ll save an additional $5.00 off of your crop fee for Saturday! Each of our Saturday croppers will receive a free kit of goodies, will be entered into our free Derby pool for a chance to win some awesome prizes, and will be eligible for our hourly giveaways all throughout the day. We will provide snacks and drinks on Friday evening, and lunch, snacks and drinks on Saturday.

And for our Shoppers as well as our Croppers, we will be offering excellent sale specials all throughout the day on both Friday and Saturday!

To finish off the Month of April, we have our Scrapbook Inspirations Class Tuesday 4/29 from 6-8 pm. There are only a few spots left in this class, so be sure to let us know ASAP if you wish to attend.

Also, our April Vintage Baby Club was rescheduled for Wed. 4/30 6-8 pm., so if anyone else is interested in attending this class, be sure to let us know by the end of the day Tues. 4/29.

Basics of Photoshop Elements- (5/31) Learn how to organize your photos and how to use all of the tools to do basic photo editing in Photoshop Elements. This class will cover topics such as color correcting and correcting damaged photos, converting photos to B/W and Sepia, Cropping, resizing, using various artistic masks and brushes, and much more.

March Madness and Easter Egg-Citement

CLASSES & CROPS

Don’t forget about our Friday Night Crop this Friday, March 21 from 5:00pm- 2:00am. We still have spaces available, but they are filling up fast, so be sure to call and make your reservation today before we run out of space! And as always, you can come in and start cropping anytime throughout the day at no extra charge, as our crop area is free to use Monday-Friday 11:00am-5:00pm. For the late night portion, snacks and drinks will be provided, and all croppers will receive a 10% discount on purchases all night! Project of the Month- Spring/Easter Victorian Tag Album- this is a super cute little wooden tag album decorated with acrylic paint and brand new KaiserCraft paper, and embellished with laser woodcuts, frosted flowers, jewels, ribbon and liquid pearls. And what could we possibly love more than scrapbooking? Well, new scrapbooking products of course. Oh and we can’t forget about how much we love those inspirational classes, great discounts, and last but not least, Consignment Sales!

So if you love all of these things, you are definitely going to love February!

NEWS

CHA is fast approaching, and that means we will be ordering tons of new products, but that also means we need to clear out as much inventory as possible to make room for all of the cool new stuff we will be receiving!

So for all of February, every Wednesday will be Whatever You Want Wednesday! That means you can bring in your Michaels and Hobby Lobby Coupons every single Wednesday and receive 40% off any single item!

And if that isn’t enough, all month long, for every $25.00 that you spend, you will receive a $5.00 off gift voucher to be redeemed the week of March 1-8!

And to help you to get rid of all of your old scrapbooking supplies to make way for all of the new products we’ll be getting in for you, we will be holding our Semi-Annual Consignment Sale on March 1. So clean out that scrapbook room and earn money for all of the new supplies you’ll be dying to get your hands on! It’s as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Sort through all of your supplies and figure out what you want to sell
2. Put your name/initials and selling price on each item
3. Drop the supplies off along with an inventory list, and we’ll do the rest!

Cricut News- The Design Studio Software has been a huge hit, we can hardly keep it on the shelf! If you haven’t tried out this new software yet, be sure to stop by and check it out on our crop computer- it’s super cool!

With CHA coming up, Cricut has some new products coming out that I know lots of you have been waiting for!

There are several new cartridges that have been released for preorder:
Paper Dolls, Doodletype, Stretch Your Imagination, Winnie the Pooh, Pooh Font, and even more to come! Also available for preorder are the new Cricut Colors Marker Sets- Sophisticated, and Fashion. So if you want to be first in line to get these new cartridges and markers, be sure to come in and place your preorder!

If you are a fan of the D-Ring Albums, we are now carrying the We-R-Memory Keepers D-Ring Albums. These albums are available in both 12×12 and 8.5×11, leather or linen, and a multitude of colors! We have a few of the basic colors in stock, but can custom order your preference at no extra charge.

Start the Year Off Right!

Well, we hit the tables cropping for the New Year, and we plan on keeping that tape runner rolling throughout the rest of the year! So if your resolution was to get more scrapbooking done, or to learn more techniques, we’ve got just what you need to get you started. We now have the Cricut Design Studio Software installed on our crop computer for your use so come on in and play away! We will be holding a tutorial class on the software later in the month, so keep an eye on the calendar!

Our Design Team Search is underway! We have extended our deadline for entries for a couple of extra weeks to allow some of the people who have expressed interest enough time to get their samples finished and turned in now that the hectic holiday schedules are over. So for those of you who would still like the opportunity to serve on the 2008 Design Team, we will be accepting artwork submissions through Saturday, January 12.
