Scrap Paper Scizzors is a scrapbook store located in Georgetown Kentucky run by Melissa Wagner. We offer a fresh approach to scrapbooking from our hip hard-to-find papers and embellishments to our classes for every type of scrapbooker from beginners to advanced.

September Scrapbooking Delight

The kids are back in school and cooler weather is finally beginning to show us some relief from the heat, so it’s time to start scrapbooking all of those photos taken over summer break!  All during September, we have plenty of opportunities to get you going on those scrapbooking projects.  With 2 all day crops and 3 late night crops, this month will be a scrapbooker’s delight!  We’re starting the month off right, with an all day crop on Labor Day from 10am-10pm, so come on out and start cropping.  We have plenty of spaces still open, so if you are looking for something to do on your day off, come on out and enjoy your day scrapbooking with us.

If you can’t come out to crop, at least make sure to come in and take advantage of our Labor Day Sale!  Embellishments, stamps, albums, tools, and organizers are 20% off all day, and all patterned paper is 10% off all day!

News

We will be holding a very special crop toward the end of the month.  Our Scrap Pink Event on Sept. 28-29 will be one crop you won’t want to miss.  In addition to tons of great prize giveaways and receiving free scrapbook kits and make-n-takes, and amazing sales throughout the store, croppers will be supporting a very special cause.  A donation of $10.00 from each crop fee will be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help fund Breast Cancer research and education.  We will also have several “pink” items available for sale in the store.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these items will also be donated to help support this great cause!

Don’t forget to check our calendar for other crop dates this month, and remember, we offer open crop times every day: you can come in and crop for free M-F 11am-5pm, and after 5pm it’s only $.50 an hour.  Plus, you can join us any Saturday 11am-8pm for only $1.00 an hour or $5.00 for the whole day!

Out with the Old and in with the New!!!

News

We have so much exciting news to report from CHA, loads of new products coming in to add to our inventory, and great new class ideas we can’t wait to share! We are receiving shipments of new products daily and will continue to receive shipments all the way through Ocober, so make sure to check back frequently to see what’s in! We even picked up several new independent companies with some unique new products you won’t want to miss!

One of the most exciting announcements from CHA was from Provocraft. They will be releasing their new Cricut software in October which will allow you to connect your Cricut Machine to your computer for a whole new level of usability! The software is extremely user friendly and gives you loads of new capabilities for use with your existing Cricut Machine (for both 6″ and 12″ machines). They will be releasing a FREE trial version of the software that will be available in the store as well so you can try it before you buy it. Watch for more info toward the end of September, beginning of October.

Don’t forget to print out our web coupon for August! Since we have so much new stuff coming in, we need to move some of our existing inventory out to make room! During each week of August, we will be offering a 10% discount on a different group of items, and you can earn an additional 5% off of your entire order if you bring a friend, and your friend will receive 5% off of their entire order too! (See coupon for discount details) So be sure to print out the coupon and bring it, and a friend, with you!

New Store Hours: In the past our regular store hours have been M-Sat. 10:00 am-7:00 pm, however throughout the summer we have had extended hours M-Sat. 10:00 am-8:00 pm. We have decided that to better accommodate our customers, when we go back to our regular scheduled store hours on Aug. 13, our new store hours will be M-Sat. 11:00 am- 8:00 pm.

Classes and Crops

Our Class Schedule for August and part of September has been posted on the calendar. Now that the kids are starting back to school, it’s the perfect time to get away and find some time for yourself, and of course to catch up on scrapbooking all of those pictures from summer vacation. In addition to our regular scrapbooking and cardmaking classes, we are starting back up with our Basic Digital Photography, Intermediate Photography for SLR’s and Photoshop Elements classes. We will also be holding some specialty photography classes for specific models of SLR cameras that will focus on the manual settings for these particular camera models.

And don’t forget about our late night crops every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 5:00 pm- 2:00 am for only $10.00 (we will provide snacks and drinks), and since it’s free to come in and crop M-F 10:00 am-5:00 pm, you can come in early at no extra charge and make an all day event out of it!

We are finalizing the details of our Scrap Pink Event to be held here in the store the weekend of Sept. 28-29. This will be an exciting fun-filled event that we hope everyone will want to be involved in, but most importantly, it will help us to raise money for a good cause! Proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness. We will have activities for everyone who wishes to be involved, whether it be a make-n-take or workshop for those who just want to drop in for a while, or a crop for those who wish to be here for the long haul and scrap to their heart’s delight! There will be lots of giveaways throughout the day, food, games, sale specials and more! We’ll have the rest of the details along with the crop fee posted within the week.

There were so many new products and companies at CHA that we couldn’t possibly place all of our orders at the show, so we’ll continue to update the list as we finalize additional orders. Here are some additional orders in the works:

July is a month you do not want to miss out on at Scrap Paper Scizzors!

Happy Holidays!?! That’s right, we’re celebrating Christmas in July all month long! All Christmas and Winter themed products are discounted at 25% off. So whether you need to catch up on your holiday scrapbooking, or want to get a jump start on this year’s holiday cards, beat the heat and head over to Scrap Paper Scizzors for some great winter savings in the height of summer. (excludes Cricut Cartridges) And who knows, you might just find an extra goodie in your bag at some point throughout the month, courtesy of our little elves!

And if that isn’t enough, starting Monday July 2 we will be extending our store hours for the duration of the summer. We will remain open an extra hour each evening until 8:00 pm for your shopping convenience. And as always, our doors are open to shoppers during our late night crop hours as well, which means you can shop up until 2:00 am every other Friday evening. Just check our calendar of events for crop dates.

And to make July even more exciting……select Cricut cartridges will be on sale starting Monday July 2. As you all know, we normally offer our cartridges to our customers at our cost, so when we are offered select cartridges at a discount, it just makes sense that we would pass that savings on to you! Several of our cartridges are marked down to $49.99 while supplies last, so be sure to get here early so you don’t miss out! (All cartridges are priced as marked.)

The store will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day so we wish you all a safe and happy holiday. We will resume our normal business hours on July 5th.

Our Consignment Sale is fast approaching, so get busy cleaning out your old scrapbook supplies. Bring in all of your old stuff and earn money toward all of the new stuff you’ve been dying to get your hands on! Bring in your items with your name and price listed on each one, and we’ll do all the rest! Just drop them by the store at your convenience- it’s as easy as that. And even if you don’t have anything to sell, make sure you come in to the Consignment Sale on July 14th to take advantage of all of the great deals you are sure to find.

Classes

The July and August Class and Crop Schedules have been posted on our calendar of events, so be sure to check it out. We have some fantastic classes going on over the next couple of months, so come on in, kick back, and have some fun, and you’ll leave with some gorgeous layouts, cards and projects. You can even stop by the store to check out our class samples. And for even more fun, join us for our late night crop on the 1st Friday of the month. (Our regularly scheduled crop on the 3rd Friday will not be held this month due to our attendance at CHA where we will be finding all kinds of new goodies to add to our ever growing inventory.)

In addition to all of the new items we received last month, we are continuing to get even more items in. We now have Stickles in a rainbow of fantastic colors. If you haven’t tried these yet, they are a must have! We have also received a wide selection of rick rack ribbon, 8×8 album kits from Creating Keepsakes, even more premade pages from Just Jinger, the Girl Scout and Brownie collection from K & Co. and even some brand new Prima Flowers to match the collection.

Summer is Sizzlin’ at Scrap Paper Scizzors

Now that school is finally out and everyone is gearing up for summer activities, Scrap Paper Scizzors is doing it’s very best to offer you lots of opportunities for fun. With our newly expanded class schedule and late night crops every other weekend, you are sure to find just what you are looking for to make your summer an eventful one!

NEWS

Many of you have been anxiously awaiting the unveiling of the photos chosen from the Scrappable Faces event to see whose photos will be displayed on our gallery wall. Well, you won’t have to wait much longer. We will be unveiling our Scrappable Faces Gallery on Saturday, June 23, so come on by and see if your child was one of the lucky winners.

Thanks so much to Michelle Carlisle from Carlisle Photography for all of the hard work she has put in to the photo shoot and gallery exhibit. If you would still like to contact Michele to place orders for your photos, you can reach her at 502-868-0199.

Start digging out all of those old scrapbook supplies and earn some extra money for brand new stuff. We will be holding a consignment sale on July 14th, so bring in your old scrapbook supplies between now and July 13th and we will set you up with a consignment account. We will sell all of your old supplies for you, and for all of your merchandise that sells, you will receive a store credit for future purchases. See the July Calendar for details.

And for those of you who, like me, just can’t wait to get your hands on the new Cricut Expressions Die Cutter, we are taking special orders- and you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who can beat our price. Because we are selling it at such a low price, we are not allowed to advertise it, so just give us a call for details. Or if you prefer, you can just come on in and try out ours in the crop area. The Expressions are expected to begin shipping this week, and the machine for the crop area has already been ordered, so ours should be available to try out sometime next week.

We have chosen our Design Team for 2007!  Please welcome Katy Masino, Rebekka Bess, Kelly Deal, Patti Miller, Jennifer Batten, Keely Yowler, Donna Holden, Ruby Adamson, and Jennifer Cox.  Each of the talented members brings their own unique style to the Design Team to allow us to provide a wider range of classes and to add additional classes to our calendar. 

May 5th is National Scrapbook Day and we will be celebrating with an event packed day!  There is an all day crop from 10am-10pm, with hourly drawings and discounts.  And for those who just want to come in and shop, we will have loads of sales and markdowns and a Grand Prize Drawing at the end of the day.

Classes 

With our newly formed design team hard at work, we have a packed calendar for May, including:

  • 2 all day crops, one for National Scrapbook Day, the other for Memorial Day
  • 2 new clubs encompassing cardmaking, and Baby’s First Year layouts
  • A new Scrapbooking 101 class for beginners, or for those who just want to learn to do some cute quick and simple layouts
  • And since our photography classes have proven to be such a hit, we are offering a new photo troubleshooting class that is sure to be a new favorite!
  • We haven’t forgotten about those upcoming Graduations either- we will be holding a Graduation Album workshop at the end of the month open to graduating teens so that they can complete their own album of memories, or for parents or friends of graduates to complete an album to give as a graduation gift
  • Most importantly, make sure you are prepared for Mother’s Day by coming to our May Card Class, Cards a Mother Would Love, and create some beautiful cards to let Mom know just how special she is!
