NEWS

It’s that time of year again to celebrate every scrapbooker’s favorite holiday…… NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!!! And as always, we will be celebrating in style! Join us all weekend starting Friday 5/2 through Saturday 5/3 and crop ’til you drop!

We will start off the festivities at our Friday night crop on 5/2 from 5:00 pm- 2:00 am. Then we will continue the festivities on Saturday 5/3 at our all day crop from 10:00 am- 10:00 pm. And if you are planning on cropping both days, you can just leave all of your stuff out on the table when you leave Friday night and just pick up where you left off when you come in Saturday! And even better, by attending both days, you’ll save an additional $5.00 off of your crop fee for Saturday! Each of our Saturday croppers will receive a free kit of goodies, will be entered into our free Derby pool for a chance to win some awesome prizes, and will be eligible for our hourly giveaways all throughout the day. We will provide snacks and drinks on Friday evening, and lunch, snacks and drinks on Saturday.

And for our Shoppers as well as our Croppers, we will be offering excellent sale specials all throughout the day on both Friday and Saturday!

To finish off the Month of April, we have our Scrapbook Inspirations Class Tuesday 4/29 from 6-8 pm. There are only a few spots left in this class, so be sure to let us know ASAP if you wish to attend.

Also, our April Vintage Baby Club was rescheduled for Wed. 4/30 6-8 pm., so if anyone else is interested in attending this class, be sure to let us know by the end of the day Tues. 4/29.

Basics of Photoshop Elements- (5/31) Learn how to organize your photos and how to use all of the tools to do basic photo editing in Photoshop Elements. This class will cover topics such as color correcting and correcting damaged photos, converting photos to B/W and Sepia, Cropping, resizing, using various artistic masks and brushes, and much more.

March Madness and Easter Egg-Citement

With customers lined up at our doors to get in for the Consignment Sale on the 1st, March definitely started off as a month of madness! CLASSES & CROPS

Don’t forget about our Friday Night Crop this Friday, March 21 from 5:00pm- 2:00am. We still have spaces available, but they are filling up fast, so be sure to call and make your reservation today before we run out of space! And as always, you can come in and start cropping anytime throughout the day at no extra charge, as our crop area is free to use Monday-Friday 11:00am-5:00pm. For the late night portion, snacks and drinks will be provided, and all croppers will receive a 10% discount on purchases all night! And as an additional bonus in celebration of the upcoming Easter weekend, we will have door prizes and giveaways throughout the night.

Totally Techniques- Fragment Frame- learn to paint a canvas frame using glimmer mist, then embellish it using patterned paper and Tim Holtz Acrylic Fragments.

Quick & Simple Scrapbooking- Spring is in the Air- whether you’re a beginner, or just want to keep your layouts quick and simple without all the fuss, you can come in and complete this 2 page layout with a fun and bright springtime theme.

That’s My Baby Club- come in and create 2 vintage baby pages each month by joining the club, or just come in for one class and learn all the tricks to designing in vintage style. This month, the class is designed by our newest design team member Susie Farthing, and if you haven’t seen her work yet, you won’t want to miss it!

Project of the Month- Spring/Easter Victorian Tag Album- this is a super cute little wooden tag album decorated with acrylic paint and brand new KaiserCraft paper, and embellished with laser woodcuts, frosted flowers, jewels, ribbon and liquid pearls. This class is almost full, so be sure to sign up soon to reserve your space!

Scrapbook Inspirations- Crate Paper & Posies- this class features a 2 page layout using the Seaweed Collection from Crate Paper and is beautifully embellished with prima flowers and custom heat embossed diecuts. These papers are extremely versatile and look great for either male or female themed layouts, as well as baby, spring, fall, couple, or beach themes!

And what could we possibly love more than scrapbooking? Well, new scrapbooking products of course. Oh and we can’t forget about how much we love those inspirational classes, great discounts, and last but not least, Consignment Sales!

So if you love all of these things, you are definitely going to love February!

NEWS

CHA is fast approaching, and that means we will be ordering tons of new products, but that also means we need to clear out as much inventory as possible to make room for all of the cool new stuff we will be receiving!

So for all of February, every Wednesday will be Whatever You Want Wednesday! That means you can bring in your Michaels and Hobby Lobby Coupons every single Wednesday and receive 40% off any single item!

And if that isn’t enough, all month long, for every $25.00 that you spend, you will receive a $5.00 off gift voucher to be redeemed the week of March 1-8!

And to help you to get rid of all of your old scrapbooking supplies to make way for all of the new products we’ll be getting in for you, we will be holding our Semi-Annual Consignment Sale on March 1. So clean out that scrapbook room and earn money for all of the new supplies you’ll be dying to get your hands on! It’s as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Sort through all of your supplies and figure out what you want to sell
2. Put your name/initials and selling price on each item
3. Drop the supplies off along with an inventory list, and we’ll do the rest!

Cricut News- The Design Studio Software has been a huge hit, we can hardly keep it on the shelf! If you haven’t tried out this new software yet, be sure to stop by and check it out on our crop computer- it’s super cool!

With CHA coming up, Cricut has some new products coming out that I know lots of you have been waiting for!

There are several new cartridges that have been released for preorder:
Paper Dolls, Doodletype, Stretch Your Imagination, Winnie the Pooh, Pooh Font, and even more to come! Also available for preorder are the new Cricut Colors Marker Sets- Sophisticated, and Fashion. So if you want to be first in line to get these new cartridges and markers, be sure to come in and place your preorder!

If you are a fan of the D-Ring Albums, we are now carrying the We-R-Memory Keepers D-Ring Albums. These albums are available in both 12×12 and 8.5×11, leather or linen, and a multitude of colors! We have a few of the basic colors in stock, but can custom order your preference at no extra charge.

Basics of Digital Photography- For those of you who missed taking the class in January, we are offering it again by popular demand! So, if you got a new camera for Christmas and need to learn how to use all of the settings, shoot in different lighting situations, frame your photos better, and tons more helpful photo tips, then this is the class for you!

Card Crazy- Make some cute little valentines cards and candy tin to express to your loved ones just how special they are to you!

Quick and Simple Scrapbooking- Create these super cute Always Yours layouts in traditional valentine fashion!

Scrapbook Inspirations- These precious pages are “Infused” with Beauty- abosolutely stunning, you won’t want to miss out on these pages!

Project of the Month- Join us in creating a LOVEly 6×6 Acrylic Album filled with tons of great techniques and a multitude of embellishments, these clear pages make for a very cool overall effect!

Well, we hit the tables cropping for the New Year, and we plan on keeping that tape runner rolling throughout the rest of the year! So if your resolution was to get more scrapbooking done, or to learn more techniques, we’ve got just what you need to get you started. We now have the Cricut Design Studio Software installed on our crop computer for your use so come on in and play away! We will be holding a tutorial class on the software later in the month, so keep an eye on the calendar!

Our Design Team Search is underway! We have extended our deadline for entries for a couple of extra weeks to allow some of the people who have expressed interest enough time to get their samples finished and turned in now that the hectic holiday schedules are over. So for those of you who would still like the opportunity to serve on the 2008 Design Team, we will be accepting artwork submissions through Saturday, January 12.

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is upon us, and at Scrap Paper Scizzors we are doing our best to make your holiday preparations as easy as possible!

From now until Dec. 22, for every $100.00 spent in the store, you will receive a gift voucher for $20.00 off your purchase of $50.00 or more during the week of Dec. 17- Dec. 22, 2007.

And if that wasn’t enough, for the month of December only, every Wednesday from now until Christmas is WHATEVER YOU WANT WEDNESDAY!!! That’s right, you can bring in your Michael’s and Hobby Lobby Coupons and redeem them every Wednesday until Christmas!

Lastly, to make sure that you get what you want for Christmas, we will have Holiday Wish Lists available for you to fill out so that all of your friends and family will know exactly what to get for you! CLASSES

Throughout December we are offering a holiday card buffet to allow you to create a multitude of quick, simple stamped cards to send to all of your friends and family.

In our techniques class this month, we will use glimmer mist to create beautiful holiday tags to help you decorate and label all of your packages.

And for our project of the month, we will be creating customized name plaque frames which make perfect Christmas gifts!

To help you get a jump start on your holiday scrapbooking, we are offering classes featuring both Christmas and Winter themed layouts.

We will also be holding a Kids’ Disney Class, giving the parents a little break to do some shopping while the kids have fun creating Disney layouts and custom crowns and tiaras. This class is for both girls and boys ages 5-10. (For children under 5, parents will be required to stay and assist.)

And as always, we will be holding our Late Night Crops on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 5pm-2am.

NEWS

It’s so hard to believe it’s been a year since we opened our doors for business! To celebrate, we will be holding our Anniversary Celebration the day after Christmas. We will have extended hours from 10am-10pm, and will offer tons of sale specials, as well as an all day crop! There will be great prize giveaways throughout the day, and make-n-takes for both croppers and shoppers! So come on out and help us celebrate in style and take advantage of all of the day after Christmas Sales!

And the 1 year mark means we will also be beginning our 2008 design team search! If you are interested in becoming a member of the design team for the coming year, we will be accepting submissions throughout the rest of December. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 31st. We are asking that each person submit a wide variety of artwork from each of the following categories in order for us to get a good grasp of each entrant’s scope of styles and expertise:

-scrapbook layouts

-cards

-paper crafting projects or projects using specialized techniques

There will be 6 people chosen for the 2008 design team. Finalists will be chosen through a combination of staff top picks and customer votes on projects submitted. Design Team Members meet once a month to work on projects for classes and displays. Benefits include 20% off discounts on personal in store purchases, and additional compensation is given in the form of store credit for teaching classes. (All class supplies and design team projects are paid for by the store.)
